Collection: Kanaan Winery

Kanaan Winery is located at the eastern foothills of the Helan Mountains in Ningxia in northwestern China. The winery was founded in 2011 by the German-Chinese Fang Wang. Also known as "Crazy Fang," the winemaker moved to Germany in 2000 to study at the University of Gießen. In 2011, she returned to Ningxia and founded Kanaan Winery. She was supported by her father Fengyu Wang, who has been experimenting with viticulture in Ningxia since 1984. Kanaan Winery grows Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Gernischt, Riesling, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc on an area of 18 hectares. Although the winery is still comparatively young, it has already won awards all over the world. Jancis Robinson described the wine "Pretty Pony" at a tasting as "the best wine he was able to taste from China".
